Freestyle had quite the busy Graduation Season in 2016, servicing multiple high school and collegiate commencement ceremonies throughout California. Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, Monterey Bay, and Clovis were just some of the areas where one might have seen our sound reinforcement, LED video walls, or streamer blasts in action. We would like to sincerely congratulate all of the 2016 graduates and wish them good luck with all future endeavors!
IMDb, the world’s largest online movie database, recently celebrated it’s 25th anniversary at the historic Sunset Towers Hotel in West Hollywood, CA. Not only did IMDb pioneer movie and actor database file sharing, it was an early pioneer of internet based databases accessible to the general public. Freestyle Event Services provided the star studded event with custom carpet and step & repeat services, lighting, & audio. The event was a tremendous success and marked the first of many future Hollywood events for IMDb. Special thank you to Simply Troy Lifestyle & Events for the event design and coordination. Here’s to the next 25 years!
This past weekend we traveled to the beautiful UC Santa Barbara campus to provide sound reinforcement and stage lighting for the Associated Students Program Board’s “Welcome Back Concert” featuring Roc Nation artist Vic Mensa! We worked closely with the campus’ technical directors as well as Vic Mensa’s production company to ensure that their sound and lighting needs were fulfilled. Our onsite technicians’ attention to detail and technical knowledge were key factors to a successful show. We had an absolute blast and are looking forward to our next event at UC Santa Barbara!
We at Freestyle really find pleasure in working with clients from so many different ethnic, religious, and economic backgrounds. When Alex & Susie contacted us for their large wedding reception at Bakersfield Country Club that would house their Greek and Mexican families and friends we knew we were in for a treat. With mariachis downstairs during cocktail hour and a Greek band upstairs during the reception along with Mike Broida from Freestyle, their guests danced the night away in celebration of their new marriage. Congrats again Alex & Susie! Photos courtesy of Left Coast Design Studio. Event coordination and design by Fairy Godmother Co.
It’s always exciting when one of our own ties the knot! Freestyle’s very own Chris Anfoso AKA DJ Qwiz made it official and married his beautiful bride, Noel, last month at the Bell Tower Club in Bakersfield, CA. Gabriel Garzaro MC’ed and DJ’ed the event while the color-changing uplighting, robotic intelligent lighting, and custom monogram set the tone for the perfect party. Congrats again to the new Mr. & Mrs. Anfoso!

The 48th annual World Ag Expo recently took place in Tulare, CA. With over 100,000 visitors from 72 countries, the World Ag Expo is THE largest agriculture show in the world and takes place in the heart of California’s Central Valley. As the International Agri-Center’s contracted audio-visual provider, Freestyle Event Services has numerous responsibilities onsite for the show. Some of those responsibilities include providing rental support for the hundreds of exhibitors in attendance, audio-visual solutions and technicians inside of various seminar rooms and pavilions, a large-scale outdoor grounds PA system, and more. In addition, the use of LED Wall is becoming an integral part of the show, being used in two different locations on the grounds in 2015. The World Ag Expo is a week-long adventure for the Freestyle team that involves extensive logistical planning, but is also extremely fun and unique amongst the various events that we are privileged to be a part of. We will be looking forward to next year’s show!
No matter what holiday is being celebrated or special event is taking place, the historic Padre Hotel in Downtown Bakersfield is guaranteed to offer a unique, theme-oriented experience for all who attend. We were thrilled to be a part of their New Year’s Eve festivities once again this year. By combining decorative uplighting as a foundation and robotic intelligent lighting as accents in the lobby, we were able to bring their “Fall Down the Rabbit Hole” Alice In Wonderland theme to life. The lobby was only the beginning. Once guests found their way onto the Prairie Fire patio they were treated to a complete UV color wash and high-performance video projection with images from the movie to set the stage for Absolem’s Hookah Lounge. Not to mention, our DJ on Prairie Fire kept guests dancing until 2015 arrived!
